Trading from premises on Ingleside Road, Steve’s Autos Lancing Ltd is a friendly, family-run company with a small team of technicians and auto electricians. With 120 years of combined experience, our service centre and MOT garage delivers a wide range of modern solutions across all makes and models. We welcome private motorists, fleet operators, commercial clients and, of course, other members of the automotive trade.
Customers from the surrounding Goring, Hove, Shoreham and Worthing areas, and those throughout West Sussex, can book in for car servicing and repair work, an annual car or light commercial vehicle MOT test in the Class IV category, or innovative vehicle diagnostics at our welcoming workshop.
We even offer a breakdown recovery service across West Sussex.
Steve, our owner, runs the company as part of a husband-and-wife team. We are very much a family-owned and family-run garage. Our business originally started out during 1999, working under the S.D. Motors name from premises in Hove.
The company name changed in 2008 to Steve’s Auto Repairs.
Steve took over our second branch, a service centre and MOT garage in Lancing, during 2018. He combined it with our original branch in Hove and we now trade under our current name. Our Hove premises is still open for drop-offs and collections, but we complete work in Lancing. Our commitment to quality workmanship continues through to the present day.
Steve has AA, RAC and main dealership experience.
We are Volvo car servicing and repair specialists, and our garage has DVSA approval to perform car and light commercial vehicle MOT tests in the Class IV category.
Steve’s Auto’s Lancing Ltd will go above and beyond normal expectations to help you. We are honest and reliable, and we show our customers any parts that we replace on completion of car servicing and repair work. We take the time to explain why we needed these parts, and we also take photographs and videos beforehand so that you can fully understand the work required.

Cars are a passion at our service centre and MOT garage. We can diagnose problems by a simple road test, listening for certain noises, and confirming subsystem faults with vehicle diagnostics to stop the problem from arising again in the future. Steve’s Autos Lancing Ltd has become a diesel specialist over the years. We can resolve all common issues.
We trade as part of the Good Garage Scheme and have done so since 2007. We also have approval from the DVSA to perform car and light commercial vehicle MOT tests. Our company uses qualified technicians and auto electricians trained to City & Guilds standards. To meet the car servicing and repair specifications of major manufacturers and marques, we provide our staff with ongoing training at regular intervals.
Our membership to the Good Garage Scheme also means we enjoy an excellent relationship with Forté Lubricants.
Steve’s Autos Lancing Ltd carries the appropriate levels of employer liability, public liability and motor trade insurance. We only use OEM parts to repair your car, which we guarantee alongside our workmanship for 12 months or 12,000 miles, whichever falls soonest of the two.

Our Automotive Services
The technicians and auto electricians at our car servicing, repair and MOT garage use tools from Snap-On. We also have Snap-On scanners to perform vehicle diagnostics. Our team uses the latest carbon removal systems for cleaning diesel particulate filters and injectors. Steve’s Autos Lancing Ltd uses R134A air conditioning refrigerants on models up to 2016, and R1234YF on cars from 2016 up to the present day.
Our workshop has dedicated bays for car and light commercial vehicle MOT testing to ensure faster turnarounds.
